Exhaust silencer system - including heater

Schmittparts matched front pipe / silencer development
As with many original Messerschmitt parts, the silencer is a masterpiece of compact design making good use of the limited space within the engine cover but that precludes use of the expansion chamber for optimum gas flow. Our new silencer systems are a further development of the Russell Church designs that were tested on a dynamometer operating a Sachs 200 AZL-R to ensure that optimum performance was achieved with good silencing properties. Use of the correct diameter pipe with an expansion chamber located just before the silencer were proven to increase power output. Some owners may not be seeking more power but engine flexibility, improved hill climbing, less gear changes and improved fuel consumption are significant benefits.
