FMR #1462 Fuel tap. Specially made for Schmittparts, our new fuel tap features a tank filter, sediment trap, and fuel outlet filter. Original type fuel taps have not been available for over 40 years and many are failing now.  Early cork seal taps are very prone to dangerous leaks and most attempts at repairing them fail due to the aging cork. Filters on this type were perforated brass with aluminium reinforcement so corrosion is often observed. 

Our fuel tap uses modern materials including a fuel inlet filter incorporating and integral tank outlet seal that prevents contamination reaching the carburettor.  An integral sediment bowl captures water and very fine particles that may escape past the primary filter.  These filters are essential to protect the fuel system especially when using a fuel tank that may have some contamination from years of standing unused.

A special ‘P’ clip is included for connection to FMR #1468 fuel tap control arm. Operating positions as follows:

UP: OFF

Horizontal: ON

Down:  Reserve

This is the arrangement as used on KR200 up to 1959.  Later KR200 had a centre off position that was marked on the upholstery bulkhead panel.  Also suits ALL KR175 models
